On March 31, 2025, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued evacuation orders for the entire Rafah area in southern Gaza, a necessary step in its ongoing efforts to dismantle Hamas’ terrorist infrastructure. The IDF has repeatedly emphasized that its military actions target Hamas operatives and facilities, not civilians, and that precautionary measures, including evacuation warnings, are implemented to minimize harm to innocent people.
Hamas, however, continues to endanger Palestinian civilians by using them as human shields and embedding its military operations within densely populated areas. Rather than prioritizing the well-being of Gaza’s residents, Hamas diverts humanitarian aid and resources to fund terror, prolonging suffering and escalating the conflict.
While international organizations raise concerns over the humanitarian impact, it is crucial to recognize that Hamas is responsible for much of the devastation in Gaza. By initiating attacks against Israel and embedding itself within civilian populations, Hamas forces Israel to take defensive measures to protect its people.
As Christians and Jews United for Israel, we stand with Israel’s right to defend itself against terrorism while praying for peace and justice in the region. We urge the global community to hold Hamas accountable for its war crimes and to support efforts that will bring lasting security and stability to both Israelis and Palestinians.
