As the sun rises on a difficult spring day in the Holy Land, Israel finds itself at a moral and existential crossroads. Despite ceaseless international scrutiny and terror at its doorstep, Israel continues to stand — firm in its defense, firm in its values, and firm in its right to exist in peace.
🇮🇱 Ceasefire Talks Stalled by Hamas Intransigence
In Cairo, indirect negotiations mediated by Egypt have hit a familiar wall: Hamas refuses to release hostages or agree to a ceasefire unless its terrorist regime remains intact. Israel, justly, cannot agree to a deal that would reward terror or allow a genocidal entity to rebuild.
While some reports suggested potential flexibility by Hamas to release 8 to 10 hostages, the core obstacle remains: Hamas demands a permanent end to the war — while keeping its grip on Gaza and continuing its war of annihilation against Israel.
CJUI stands with Israel’s moral clarity. No sovereign nation can accept terms dictated by those who butchered innocents on October 7 and still hold dozens hostage.
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.” — Psalm 122:6
🎯 Security First: Israel Establishes Humanitarian Corridors Amidst Military Advances
As Israel prepares to expand operations in Gaza to dismantle Hamas’s last strongholds, it has built humanitarian corridors and urged Palestinian civilians to evacuate combat zones. This is not a war against the Palestinian people — it is a war against terror.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant reaffirmed that the objective is the elimination of Hamas and the return of Israeli hostages. Yet, the world turns a blind eye to Hamas’s use of civilians as human shields, even as Israel acts with unprecedented restraint and care.
Let it be clear: CJUI believes that no other army in the world shows as much concern for enemy civilians as the IDF.
🕊️ Former Mossad Leaders Urge Change — But At What Cost?
Over 250 former Mossad members have expressed concern about Israel’s current military strategy, calling for a return to ceasefire negotiations. Their perspective reflects internal debate — but we must never forget: Israel cannot secure peace by empowering evil.
Let us remember what’s at stake. The hostages — innocent men, women, and children — remain in Hamas captivity. Hamas continues to fire rockets at Israeli communities. And every delay in Israel’s mission means more suffering, more fear, and more loss.
🕯️ A Christian and Jewish Call to Action
At CJUI, we say this with one voice:
- We stand with Israel as it fights for its right to live free from terror.
- We pray for the hostages and for their families’ strength and comfort.
- We urge our elected officials in the U.S. and around the world to support Israel without hesitation or false equivalency.
Let us not be swayed by headlines or diplomatic games. Let us stand on truth, on faith, and on the eternal bond that unites Christians and Jews in our defense of God’s people and His land.
