Statement from Christians and Jews United for Israel (CJUI) on the Bondi Beach Attack (Sydney, Australia) – December 14, 2025
Christians and Jews United for Israel mourns the victims of today’s horrific terrorist attack targeting a Hanukkah gathering at Sydney’s Bondi Beach. We grieve with the families of those murdered, pray for the full recovery of the wounded, and stand in solidarity with Australia’s Jewish community as they enter a sacred season that should be marked by light, peace, and joy.
We are heartbroken that a celebration of faith was turned into a scene of terror and bloodshed. As New South Wales Premier Chris Minns noted, this violence was intended to target the Jewish community on the first day of Hanukkah—an act of hatred that must be condemned without qualification.
CJUI rejects antisemitism in every form—whether violent, political, or cultural—and we call on leaders across society to respond with moral clarity: protect Jewish life, confront incitement, and ensure those responsible and any accomplices are brought to justice.
To our Jewish brothers and sisters in Australia and around the world: you are not alone. We will continue strengthening Christian–Jewish partnership, urging vigilance against hate, and standing for the dignity and safety of the Jewish people—especially in moments like this, when that commitment is tested.
