“No Daylight Between Us”: U.S. Military Leaders Urge America to Stand Firmly with Israel After Strike on Iran

In a moment of great consequence for global peace and security, 68 retired U.S. generals and admirals have come forward with a clear and urgent message: the United States must support Israel’s bold actions against Iran’s nuclear program—and ensure they succeed.

Published on June 15, this extraordinary open letter—organized by the Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA)—is more than a statement of solidarity. It is a moral and strategic call to action. These military leaders, who once commanded some of the most powerful forces on Earth, are urging our nation to stand unequivocally with Israel as it carries out a historic and preemptive mission to stop Iran from going nuclear.

Among the signatories are former vice chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, chiefs of naval and air operations, and commanders of NATO and U.S. Pacific forces. These are not mere political voices—they are seasoned defenders of freedom, security, and the American people.

“By striking Iran’s nuclear facilities,” the letter states, “Israel has struck a decisive blow not only for its own existence but for the peace and security of America and the world.”

A Shared Threat, A Shared Destiny

Iran is not just Israel’s enemy—it is America’s. From its founding in 1979, the Islamic Republic has branded both the U.S. and Israel as existential threats. It has armed terror groups, orchestrated attacks on U.S. forces, and plotted assassinations on American soil. Just days ago, Iran stood on the brink of building nuclear weapons that could threaten not only Israel, but cities across Europe and the American homeland.

Israel’s strike—known as Operation Rising Lion—has delayed, if not dismantled, that looming nightmare. But this moment is fragile. Without clear, material support from the United States, Iran may regroup, rebuild, and retaliate.

Now is the time for courage. Now is the time for America to stand with its ally—not just in word, but in action.

As people of faith, we believe in standing with the people of Israel—not only because of the shared covenant between God and His people, but because Israel is a light of democracy and hope in a darkened region. The Jewish people have faced centuries of existential threats; today, that threat is Iran’s nuclear ambition.

The Bible teaches us to “seek peace and pursue it” (Psalm 34:14), but it also teaches us to “rescue those being led away to death” (Proverbs 24:11). Sometimes, peace must be pursued through decisive, protective action. That is what Israel has done.

What Must America Do Now?

According to the open letter, America’s response must include:

  • Public support for Israel’s actions.
  • Military aid, especially to bolster Israel’s air defenses.
  • Clear deterrence, warning Iran that escalation—particularly against U.S. troops or allies—will be met with overwhelming consequences.
  • A global coalition, ensuring Iran can never rebuild its nuclear program.

This is not just about politics. It is about preventing a second Holocaust. It is about ensuring our children do not grow up in a world where nuclear weapons are in the hands of a genocidal regime. It is about honoring the sacred friendship between America and Israel.

There Must Be No Daylight

For over 30 years, presidents from both parties have promised that Iran must never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons. Israel has just made good on that promise. It is now America’s turn to finish the work—strategically, decisively, and together with our closest ally.

Let us heed the words of these brave U.S. generals. Let us raise our voices in prayer, in solidarity, and in action.

There must be no daylight between America and Israel.
