On the night of June 21, 2025, as most of the world slept, the United States carried out one of the most decisive military operations in modern history: a coordinated airstrike on Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities. Dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer, the mission unleashed the full force of American airpower in an attempt to set back Iran’s nuclear ambitions—possibly for good.
President Donald Trump, flanked by Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, announced the strikes from the White House, calling them a “historic blow” to Iran’s pursuit of a nuclear bomb. In all, 14 Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOPs)—30,000-pound bunker-buster bombs—were dropped on three major sites: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
From an American and Israeli security perspective, this strike may be remembered as the moment Iran’s nuclear program was dealt its most significant setback since its inception.
And yet, at CJUI, while we support strong actions that defend Israel and uphold peace, we also caution our readers: the time for celebration is not now.
The Mission’s Success — and Its Limits
Initial reports suggest heavy damage to Iran’s key enrichment sites, including the deeply buried Fordow complex. Satellite images released by Maxar Technologies show craters and scorched terrain where facilities once stood. But officials from both the U.S. and Israel have yet to confirm whether the underground centrifuges—especially those located at greater depths—were completely neutralized.
Moreover, questions remain over the fate of more than 400 kilograms of weapons-grade uranium reportedly stored at Isfahan. Has it been destroyed? Relocated? Hidden? The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) admits it is in the dark.
Even more ominous: construction was already underway at a new enrichment facility buried deeper than Fordow, ominously known as “Pickaxe Mountain.” If left intact, it could become the future core of Iran’s renewed nuclear ambitions.
The Real Risks Still Ahead
Iran’s initial denials and bluster are expected. What matters now is how the regime and its proxies will respond. With 40,000 U.S. troops stationed across the region and allies such as Israel constantly under threat from Iran’s missile arsenal and terror networks, retaliation may come swiftly—and asymmetrically.
Iran’s allies, from Hezbollah in Lebanon to the Houthis in Yemen, are capable of reigniting fires across the region. The global Jewish community—along with U.S. and Israeli citizens abroad—may also face increased danger. And with the regime in Tehran potentially destabilized, the threat of a final, desperate lashing out cannot be ignored.
We must also consider the geopolitical fallout: disruption in oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz, potential cyberattacks, and escalations across the Gulf.
What This Means for Israel — and for People of Faith
For decades, Israel has sounded the alarm about a nuclear-armed Iran. This operation, while carried out by American forces, affirms what Israelis, and many of us in the Christian and Jewish pro-Israel communities, have long known: Iran’s regime is a grave and active threat to peace.
But even now, with Iran’s nuclear capabilities wounded, vigilance is essential. Now is the time for unity—not complacency. We call on our readers to:
- Pray for peace in Jerusalem and wisdom for leaders navigating these perilous times.
- Advocate for continued American and Israeli cooperation against terror and tyranny.
- Support efforts to bring freedom and hope to the Iranian people, many of whom suffer under a brutal regime they never chose.

The road ahead is uncertain. This operation may prove to be a turning point—or the opening chapter of a broader confrontation. But what is clear is this: evil does not go away quietly. And for those of us committed to defending liberty, life, and the right of Israel to exist in peace, our work is far from over.
