This weekend, the world witnessed a seismic moment in the struggle against nuclear proliferation and regional terror. In a daring and highly coordinated airstrike, the United States struck three of Iran’s nuclear facilities—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan—using for the first time in combat the powerful 30,000-pound “bunker-buster” bombs. Operation Midnight Hammer, as it was called, may have dealt the most significant blow to the Iranian nuclear program in its decades-long history.
And yet, as people of faith and defenders of Israel, we must remain watchful. The danger has not passed. In fact, this may only be the beginning.
A Strategic Triumph…With Unknown Results
President Donald Trump, joined by Vice President JD Vance and Secretaries Rubio and Hegseth, addressed the nation Saturday night after ordering the strikes. According to U.S. defense officials, all three targeted facilities sustained “extremely severe damage.” Satellite images support these claims—but it remains unclear how much of Iran’s underground enrichment infrastructure, particularly at the Fordow site, was actually destroyed.
More alarming: the fate of over 400 kilograms of weapons-grade uranium remains uncertain. Iran had previously told the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) it might move this stockpile under “special protective measures” if attacked. As of now, no one knows where it is.
Construction was also underway at Pickaxe Mountain, an even deeper enrichment site reportedly impervious to U.S. bunker-busters. If that site survived, Iran’s nuclear ambitions may only be delayed—not destroyed.
Threats Multiply: The Aftermath
Though Tehran has denied the extent of the damage, U.S. and Israeli forces are bracing for retaliation. American military bases across the Middle East—along with Israeli cities and infrastructure—are now potential targets for Iran and its regional proxies:
- The Houthis in Yemen may resume attacks on U.S. warships and global shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz.
- Hezbollah in Lebanon remains ominously silent but armed and ready.
- Terror cells and sympathizers worldwide could lash out at Israeli, Jewish, and American targets.
As CJUI has long warned, Iran’s regime is not merely a national government—it is a theocratic terror network. And like a wounded animal, it is most dangerous when cornered.
For Israel and the Free World: What Comes Next?
We echo the insight of FDD’s Mark Dubowitz, who rightly identified Iran—not Iraq—as the core existential threat to Middle Eastern peace as far back as 2003. This strike may mark a strategic reset, but not a resolution.
The U.S. must now stay engaged, not just militarily, but diplomatically—rallying global support to ensure Iran cannot reconstitute its nuclear program or retaliate with impunity. Israel’s security depends on it. So does global stability.

✅ Support Israel Publicly – Whether at your church, in your civic group, or on social media, be a voice for truth. Israel’s right to self-defense is not negotiable.
✅ Join Our Efforts – CJUI is mobilizing educational outreach and interfaith solidarity in support of Israel. Together, we stand stronger.
This may be the beginning of a transformed Middle East—one where Israel stands more secure, and a free Iran someday joins the family of nations. But until then, we remain vigilant. We remain prayerful. And we remain united—for Israel, for freedom, and for peace.
