Last night, our world was shaken once again by violence, as two young lives — Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgram, employees of the Israeli Embassy — were brutally gunned down at a Jewish museum in the heart of our nation’s capital. Today, we are even more disturbed by the publication of their killer’s so-called “manifesto” — a deluded, hate-filled screed filled with half-truths, historical distortions, and the dangerous moral justification of murder.
Let us be crystal clear:
There is no justice in targeting Jews. There is no liberation in taking lives. There is no freedom found in hate.
This document, written by Elias Rodriguez just hours before he carried out a premeditated assassination of two Jewish diplomats, makes no mention of Hamas, no recognition of the 1,200 Israelis massacred on October 7, 2023, and no acknowledgment that this war began with a campaign of terror by a genocidal group bent on Israel’s destruction.
Instead, it manipulates statistics, absolves terrorists, dehumanizes Israelis, and portrays cold-blooded murder as “armed demonstration.” This is not activism — this is radicalized antisemitism dressed in moral outrage.
We at Christians and Jews United for Israel mourn Yaron and Sarah not only as victims of terror, but as symbols of what is at stake: truth, decency, coexistence, and the right of the Jewish people to live safely in their homeland — and anywhere in the world — without fear of being hunted down for who they are.
We call on:
- Media outlets to stop sanitizing antisemitic violence and call it what it is.
- Lawmakers and civic leaders to condemn this act in full and unequivocal terms.
- All people of faith to rise up with moral clarity: not in support of false “resistance,” but in defense of life, dignity, and truth.
There is a way to grieve for Palestinians without murdering Jews. There is a way to advocate for justice without desecrating it. And there is a way to speak out — but not like this.
Yaron and Sarah were peacemakers. Their murderer was not.
May their memory be a blessing. May truth be our banner. And may our unity — as Christians, as Jews, and as people of conscience — drown out the drums of hate.
